DVI frame grabbers

Overview

Epiphan Systems manufactures a wide range of DVI/HDMI1 and DVI/HDMI/VGA frame grabbers. The Epiphan DVI and DVI/VGA frame grabbers allow the user to capture, record, or broadcast a high resolution and high frame rate video source using an Epiphan frame grabber with their image capturing computer. Ephiphan's frame grabber capture cards are available with various data uplinks such as USB, Ethernet or PCIe. Some DVI models also support VGA and other video inputs.

The Epiphan DVI frame grabbers can also emulate a hi-res camera compatible with DirectShow on Windows, QuickTime on Mac OS X, Video4Linux on Linux, Epiphan's software and other third-party applications that support cameras or frame grabbers as a video input source. This open architecture for Epiphan frame grabber devices enables seamless integration with applications such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Windows Video Encoder, QuickTime Pro , Skype, and many other 3rd party applications.

All of our DVI frame grabbers are compatible with non-protected HDMI video sources, providing the appropriate HDMI-to-DVI adapter is used.

The DVI Comparison diagram below illustrates frame rate to resolution the trade-offs between frame rates and maximum display source resolution. To select the optimal device for your task from DVI capture cards, please consult the comparison chart and table below.

Notes:

§ DVI2USB, DVI2PCIe and VGA2Ethernet are multi mode, supporting VGA, DVI, HDMI in the same device

§  the color coding of performance curves are shaded with the color of the frame grabber to illustrate the ideal nominal operating ranges. Clicking on the product icon will direct you to more detailed specifications for the Epiphan frame grabber product in question

§  certain frame grabbers will perform interlacing at certain resolution ranges

§  DVI2USB is our most versatile portable frame grabber and allows you to perform HDMI, VGA, and DVI capture at resolutions up to 1920×1200

§  For VGA Frame Grabber Selection, please visit VGA Frame Grabber Selection Guide
